Indianapolis, IN.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added the Coast II Coast All Stars to its growing list of expansion teams for the upcoming season. “The Coast II Coast All-Stars have been an ABA travel team for the last couple of years,”: stated ABA CEO Joe Newman.  “And now, Howard Hayes has decided to become a full ABA team and will locate it in the Detroit metro area.  We are very pleased about this and it will be a great addition to our North Central Division.”
Howard Hayes is a Detroit native son who played high school basketball at Detroit Public Schools (DPS) Thomas M. Cooley High School where his team won three state basketball championships.  He then went onto play for Chicago State University before playing professionally in Japan, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Canada and China. He also played in the ABA for several teams.
“The Coast II Coast All-Stars will provide Detroit area players the opportunity to showcase their basketball talents in a professional league at venues around the country,”: added Hayes.  “The team looks forward to delighting fans with great basketball.  Equally important, however, we want our players to be involved with the community through community service activities.  To date, players have read to children at a local Head Start facility.”
The team will be coached by Dennis Foster Jr., a standout player at Marygrove College and a champion player in Ireland’s professional basketball league.  For more information, call Howard Hayes at 34 219 2811 or email or visit
