The Atlanta WildCats Men’s Professional Basketball Team Rank 6th In The US ABA League, Continue To Send Players Overseas, Give Back To The Community And Prepare For The Upcoming Season

Atlanta – July 2, 2014 – The Atlanta WildCats are a team to be reckoned with.  With only 2 years in the league, the team had an undefeated 2013-2014 season, ranking 6th out of 98 teams in the United States.

Henry County High School, located at 401 Tomlinson Street in Mcdonough, GA, is now the permanent home venue for the team.  Mayor Mark Alarcon of Stockbridge, school principal Scott John and the school’s athletic director Carl Caputa was gracious enough to speak at the opening season charity game in October 2013 to express their gratitude to the team for their community service involvement and to welcome them to their school and to the county.

Within the past year, the organization has become a 501C(3) corporation, participated in community service projects, had four players take part in roles on the t.v. show “Necessary Roughness” that filmed out of Atlanta, and sent their 2012-2013 MVP, 23 year old Nick Neal, to Italy to play professional basketball. Neal is one of eight players so far, from the Atlanta WildCats, to be drafted by an overseas professional team.

“Our fan base is growing, and our brand is being recognized more and more in Atlanta and surrounding areas” says owner of the WildCats, William D. Payton, IV. “…Now that we have our 501C(3) status, we will be reaching out to large corporations for partnership and sponsorship to support our vision of raising funds for various charities, schools, local churches and providing mentorships to at-risk youths in the community.”

This year, the WildCats are proud to welcome a new Head Coach and Assistant General Manager, David Graham.  Former Assistant Head Coach of four years for the ABA team Jacksonville Giants, Graham led the Giants to consecutive championship titles in 2012 and 2013.  “I am a defensive minded coach looking to bring ABA championship titles to the Atlanta WildCats”.  Graham brings a proven history of success as coach on the high school level, AAU, college level, and ABA.  The Atlanta WildCats look forward to working with him and are enthusiastically preparing for the upcoming season beginning in November of this year.
