Phoenix, AZ.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Detroit Hoops, after a one year hiatus, have returned to the ABA and will begin play when the season starts in November.  “We are looking forward to having Gerald Watson and his team back,” stated ABA CEO Ron Tilley.  “The break gave Gerald the time needed to open his new restaurant which is doing well and now he can get back to another of his passions – basketball.  He’ll be an excellent addition to an already strong division.”
Gerald Watson is the owner and head coach of the Detroit Hoops,.  He joined the ABA in 2008-2009 and has helped many players live their dream of playing professional basketball in the US and overseas.  After spending many years in marketing with Clear Channel Radio, Radio One, Inc and also as the owner of his own advertising agency, Gerald decided to go back into the business he loved which was owning his own restaurant and is now the proud owner of Mo’Better Blues, a jazz-themed restaurant located in Downtown Detroit.  The restaurant features live Jazz and Blues with a mouth-watering menu of classic American meals with a contemporary twist.
