SPECIAL MOMENT: Last night at the Ronald McDonald house in Loma Linda Davie Champagnie (an ABA Basketball Player) made one lucky girl’s night the most amazing night ever!! It will be a moment she will remember for the rest of her life.
Davie is an ABA player that has won a championship while playing college basketball which is something that only a FEW college players can say they have accomplished. Davie was a huge part of winning that championship and last night it was all meaningless compared to the struggle the families go through at the Ronald McDonald Houses around the world.
Davie spent time to speak with one of the girls that was staying at the home in Loma Linda, CA. He took the time to listen to her story and by the end of the night he felt in his heart that she would get more strength from having his ring and he gave it to her without blinking an eye. It was a moment where you could feel the blessings all around you and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room (including myself which has been extremely rare in my lifetime)
I am proud to say that I had a chance to witness such a life changing event. These are the type people that make up the core fabric of the American Basketball League in our southern California division and I am proud to say that I am a part of it. The ABA is MUCH MORE that just a game and Davie Champagnie (who plays for the Inland Empire Invaders) is a perfect example of what we can do when we are in support of each other. Davie Champagnie is my NEW “Lord Of The Ring”.
